Our Story

Who we are

The Cornell University Figure Skating Club is a nationally ranked, student-run sports club that allows members to share their love for figure skating and build lifelong friendships. The CUFSC family creates lasting memories while practicing together, socializing, and competing against collegiate teams across the nation. The inviting culture encourages experienced skaters to continue skating in college while offering new skaters the opportunity to foster a passion for the sport. Our goal is to highlight our skaters’ college experience by creating an environment where they can express themselves freely and authentically, both on and off the ice.

What we do

The Cornell University Figure Skating Club is an inclusive and competitive club that competes under the U.S. Figure Skating Intercollegiate division. Our competition team ranges in level from beginner to senior across various disciplines. The club attends 3-4 competitions per year, placing 6th at the National Intercollegiate Final in Lake Placid, NY last season. As our team grows, we are eager to build on this success and elevate our performances to achieve even greater milestones. To strengthen our community as a club, we host various social events, including team-building, ice shows, skate night, and outings, which build lasting friendships and cultivate a supportive environment. The combination of on-ice training and off-ice bonding creates a well-rounded space for skaters to excel athletically while enjoying the experience and making the most of their years at Cornell.

Why give?

We are beyond grateful for our donors! The majority of our expenses go towards subsidizing practice ice and competition costs for our members. Your gifts allow our skaters to pursue their passions on the ice both at Lynah Rink and in collegiate competitions. From travel and registration fees to social endeavors and our semesterly ice shows, your generosity will directly enhance the Cornell experience for every member of CUFSC.
